                             1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the  
                             learned Standing Counsel appearing  for the State-   
                             opposite parties.                                    
                             2. This writ petition has been filed with the following
                             main prayer:-                                        
                            "Issue a  writ, order or direction in the nature of   
                            Mandamus   commanding to the opposite party no.2 to   
                            recommend  the case of the petitioner, who is victim of
                            rape and was also minor, for release of the payment under
                            the Uttar Pradesh Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Samman Kosh   
                            Niyamavali, 2015 (for brevity hereinafter referred as Rule,
                            2015)."                                               
                             3. Learned  counsel  for the  petitioner says that   
                             petitioner is a minor and victim of rape. An FIR was 
                             lodged and 29.08.2017 and the charge sheet has also  
                             been filed before the trial court on 02.06.2018. He  
                             further submits that statement of the petitioner under
                             Section 164 Cr.P.C. has been recorded before the trial
                             court and as per the notification issued in 2015, the
                             petitioner is entitled for compensation.             
                             4. Learned Standing Counsel has informed this Court  
                             that the District Steering Committee presided over by
                             the District Magistrate is competent to decide the   
                             question of giving compensation.                     
                             5. This writ petition is disposed of with a direction to
                             the petitioner to produce a copy of this order before
                             the District Magistrate, Lucknow, who shall refer the

                             matter to the District Steering Committee to pass an 
                             appropriate order thereon within a period of eight   
                             weeks from the date of production of a certified copy
                             of this order.
